MarilEc POS: Vertical POS & Loyalty Software for Timber Retail
A browser-based POS, loyalty, and CRM platform built for timber and building-materials retail — dual-unit selling (m³ and piece), a points engine, and loyalty delivered through Telegram and MAX bots. Running live in production, ready to deploy for any lumber yard.

THE PROBLEM
Generic POS software doesn't understand timber
Fedor had been running his building materials store in Semyonivka since 2007 — great reputation locally, but zero online presence. Every time a customer wanted to know stock availability or pricing, they had to call. Off-the-shelf POS systems are built for simple retail — one product, one unit, one price. Timber and building-materials retail breaks that model. Stock sells by cubic meter and by piece simultaneously, and the units have to stay in sync on every transaction. Customers are high-value repeat buyers who deserve loyalty tracking, but generic systems offer nothing tied to a phone number and a points balance. And in the Russian market, reaching those customers means Telegram and MAX — not the email newsletters Western POS tools assume. I built MarilEc POS to fit this vertical exactly, and proved it by running my own lumber business on it.
""Now I update prices myself when suppliers change them. I don't need to call anyone — I just go into the dashboard and change it. It's like having my own shop on the internet that I actually control.""
Build for one business, design to sell to many
The system was built to run my own timber business — which is the strongest possible validation, since every feature had to survive real daily use at a real register. But every decision was made with portability in mind: a clean Payload CMS admin, configurable products and units, password-protected multi-user access, and a loyalty layer that any lumber yard or building-materials shop could adopt. It's not a one-off internal tool that happens to work — it's vertical SaaS proven in production, ready to deploy for the next shop.

Results
MarilEc POS started as the operational backbone of my own timber business, which turned out to be the best product validation possible: every feature had to earn its place at a real register, ringing up real sales, day after day. Generic POS tools couldn't handle the basics of how lumber sells — by cubic meter and by piece at the same time — so I built a system that treats that dual-unit reality as a first-class feature rather than an afterthought, syncing both units on every transaction without a cashier ever doing the math.
The loyalty engine is where the product becomes genuinely differentiated. Instead of a plastic card that gets lost or an app no one installs, customers link once by phone number and get their points, history, and the shop's promotions inside Telegram or MAX — the messengers they already open every day. The business can broadcast a discount to every opted-in customer at once, and customers check their own balances with a single command. Loyalty stops being a card in a wallet and becomes a conversation in a chat.
What makes this more than an internal tool is that it was architected to sell. The same system that runs my lumber yard — the dual-unit POS, the phone-based CRM, the points ledger with transaction-rollback safety, the dual-platform bots, the pre-order lifecycle, the broadcast system — is configurable for any timber or building-materials retailer facing the same problems. It's vertical SaaS proven in daily production: not a concept deck, but software a real business depends on, ready to deploy for the next shop that needs it.
